Perhaps the next step after conducting an explicit research in regards to wood flooring installation process and companies that are currently operating in the market is to create a list with all questions and information you seek from the professional hardwood flooring installers. In order to tackle such difficult task, a few tips could be taken in consideration.

Schedule an estimation at your convenience and make sure to prepare the list prior to estimation on order to make an informative choice. Make sure to ask more basic questions firs such as Cost: the price of material as well as labour cost combined. Do your calculations. If you have the flooring area measured and the cost of installation compute it yourself. If you have any special (customized) requests make sure you clearly articulate them prior to flooring installation process.

Ask advice in terms of wood type, its structure (colour (grinding, texture, colour of stain ext). Also decide on installation system (method) that best suits your expectations. Types of sub-floors you having ,  areas such bellow (basement) and/or above - level areas where flooring installation will take place  will help you to choose right installation method or system. Basements typically have high moisture concentration, so adjust wood types accordingly. But the most important thing to remember is to ask questions and seek advice. It is better to "over" asked than walk on the floors you don't appeal to your taste and expectations.

Perhaps, the best strategy would be to seek a consultation form the professional wooden flooring installers and get knowledgeable  answers. However, before you start attacking  the experts, check some types of wooden floor finishes in order to organize your list of questions with some characteristics  of different types of wood floor finishes.

It has no color or any pigment, so it will preserve the original color of your wooden floors. Typically, varnish is glossy; however, by adding other special chemical ingredients, you can obtain satin or semi-glossy look. Notice, however, that with the numerous brands and floor finishes types currently available, wood stains could poses variety of other chemical ingredients.

Finally, keep in mind that there are myriads of other floor finishes existing in the  flooring installation market. Please refer to the article Types of Wood Floor Finish: Choose Wisely for more information in regards to other floor finishes types.

As we move towards a more modern look in today's ‘fad’ trend, we can see that the use of dark Hardwood floors are becoming increasingly popular. The most obvious ‘con’ in a sense for this popular style is the price, this is one of the most expensive styles of flooring in comparison to floating and laminate flooring.  However, there are a great deal of different types and colours of dark hardwood flooring as well as many different grades (depending on your needs/budget) On the higher price range and quality range, there are styles such as Red Walnut and Brazilian teak, these are some of the hardest dark wood floors. On the other hand, there are softer styles of wood like Pine and Fir that are not as hard as the others but still a great alternative. In regards to moisture resistance, with are most consumer’s issues regarding this style of flooring, is very hostile unlike floating or laminate flooring.  Hardwood can be finished and sealed in order to make it resistant to liquid infiltration, although it will become much damaged if you allow water to sit on the wood for a long period of time.  Depending on your cost as well as your intent for the floors, this is a great ‘look’ to go for that will surely last a very long time if you take care of it properly. The key to making the dark wood look great is to dust, as you can see every particle of dust on dark objects, the best thing to use is a floor friendly dusting agent.  Dark wood hardwood floors are becoming very popular amongst consumers and is a great way to add some class to your space!
