Flooring Repair Services in Mississauga
Not every damaged floor needs to be completely replaced.
The right repair depends on what caused the damage, how much flooring is affected, the construction of the existing floor and whether compatible replacement material can be found.

Scratch & Dent Repair
Furniture movement, pets, renovation work and everyday use can leave hardwood flooring scratched or gouged.
Small surface marks may sometimes be improved with localized touch-up work.
For deeper damage, replacing affected boards or refinishing a larger connected area may produce a better result than sanding a small isolated patch.

Water Damage Repair
Leaks from dishwashers, refrigerators, plumbing, windows and other sources can cause hardwood flooring to stain, swell, cup, buckle or separate.
Before a permanent repair is completed, the water source should be corrected and the affected flooring and subfloor allowed to dry.
Depending on the extent of damage, repair may involve replacing several boards, rebuilding a larger section or refinishing the surrounding hardwood flooring.

Board & Plank Replacement
Individual solid hardwood flooring boards can often be removed and replaced when damage is limited to a specific area.
For unfinished solid hardwood flooring, replacement boards can sometimes be matched by species, width and thickness and then stained and finished with the surrounding floor.
Prefinished engineered hardwood flooring usually requires a closer product match because the factory colour, texture and sheen are more difficult to reproduce on site.
Our 3 Step Flooring Repair Process
The visible damage is not always the actual cause of the flooring problem.
Our repair process begins by identifying what happened before deciding how much flooring should be removed or replaced.

Step 1: Inspect the Floor Damage
We identify the flooring type, affected area and condition of the surrounding floor.
For moisture-related problems, we also consider whether the damage originated from a plumbing leak, surface water, concrete slab moisture or another source that needs to be corrected first.

Step 2: Choose the Right Repair Method
Depending on the condition of the floor, the repair may different repair options, from replacement of section of the floor, to entire floor replacement.
The goal is to preserve as much usable flooring as practical while still producing a repair that makes sense visually and structurally.

Step 3: Repair, Blend and Finish
Replacement boards or planks are installed and fitted into the existing flooring.
When unfinished solid hardwood flooring is involved, the new material may then be sanded, stained and finished to coordinate with the surrounding floor.
For factory-finished engineered hardwood flooring, laminate flooring or vinyl flooring, the closest possible matching product is preferred.

Hardwood Flooring Repair for Mississauga Homes & Condos
Mississauga flooring repairs can vary considerably depending on the type and age of the property.
Established homes in areas such as Cooksville, Clarkson, Streetsville, Port Credit and other older neighbourhoods may contain original or older solid hardwood flooring that can sometimes be repaired with unfinished replacement boards and then refinished.
This can be especially useful when only a localized section has been damaged or when renovation work leaves openings where walls, cabinets or floor vents were previously located.
Newer homes and condominiums commonly use prefinished engineered hardwood flooring. Repairing these floors depends much more heavily on finding the same or a sufficiently close replacement product because the original factory colour and texture cannot always be recreated through on-site staining.
Condo repairs can also involve concrete subfloors and water damage from plumbing, appliances or building-envelope issues. In these cases, the flooring should not simply be replaced until the moisture source has been addressed and conditions are suitable for new flooring.
When damage is widespread but the existing solid hardwood flooring remains structurally usable, Hardwood Floor Refinishing Mississauga may be a more practical solution than replacing numerous individual boards.
