Our dustless stair refinishing process removes worn finishes and restores the natural appearance of the wood while significantly reducing airborne sanding dust.
Step 1: Preparation & Site Protection
We inspect the staircase and determine which components will be refinished, painted, repaired or replaced.
Surrounding areas are protected before sanding begins, and damaged areas or exposed fasteners are addressed where necessary.
Step 2: Dustless Sanding & Staining
Existing stain and finish are carefully removed using professional sanding equipment connected to dust-containment systems.
Once the staircase has been sanded back to clean wood, it can remain closer to its natural colour or be stained to coordinate with existing or newly installed hardwood flooring.
Stain samples can be tested directly on the wood before the final colour is selected.
Step 3: Finishing & Cleanup
After staining is complete, protective finish is applied to the refinished wood components.
We complete the final touch-ups, inspect the staircase and clean the work area before the project is finished.
For two-tone staircases, painted risers and stringers can also be incorporated when included in the project.
