Vinyl Flooring Installation Options for Oakville Properties
Vinyl flooring can serve very different purposes depending on the property.
Some Oakville homeowners choose vinyl flooring for finished basements and busy family spaces, while condo owners may need a flooring system that works over concrete and satisfies building requirements. Glue-down vinyl flooring can also be a strong option for commercial and higher-traffic spaces.

Glue-Down Vinyl Plank Flooring
Glue-down vinyl flooring is bonded directly to a properly prepared subfloor using compatible flooring adhesive.
Because there is no floating locking system underneath the floor, glue-down vinyl flooring creates a stable, low-profile installation that works particularly well for commercial spaces, offices, clinics, rental properties and certain condo projects.
It can also be a useful choice over properly prepared concrete where a firmly bonded flooring system is preferred.

Click Vinyl Plank Flooring
Click vinyl flooring uses interlocking planks to create a floating flooring system rather than bonding each plank directly to the subfloor.
It is commonly used in Oakville houses, finished basements and condos because installation can be efficient and many products include rigid waterproof cores.
The subfloor still needs to be sufficiently flat. A floating system should not be expected to hide significant low spots, uneven concrete or other preparation problems.

Vinyl Floor Replacement
We replace older carpet, laminate flooring, parquet flooring, damaged vinyl flooring and other existing surfaces with new vinyl plank flooring.
Once the old flooring is removed, the exposed plywood or concrete can be inspected properly.
Any necessary cleaning, patching, adhesive removal or levelling is completed before the new vinyl flooring is installed.
Our Vinyl Flooring Installation Process
A good vinyl flooring installation starts underneath the finished floor.
Plank layout matters, but subfloor flatness, flooring height, door clearance, transitions and the selected installation system all influence how the floor performs once the project is complete.

Step 1: Measure and Assess the Space
We measure the installation area and review the existing flooring, room layout, transitions and subfloor conditions.
At this stage, we can also determine whether click vinyl flooring or glue-down vinyl flooring is better suited to the property and selected product.

Step 2: Prepare the Subfloor
Existing flooring is removed when necessary and the exposed surface is inspected.
Concrete or plywood may require cleaning, patching, localized levelling or removal of old flooring adhesive before installation.
This step is particularly important with vinyl flooring because thin flooring products can reveal imperfections underneath them.

Step 3: Install, Trim and Finish
The vinyl flooring is laid out to create balanced rows and clean transitions through the space.
Click vinyl flooring is assembled as a floating system, while glue-down vinyl flooring is bonded using the appropriate flooring adhesive.
Baseboards, shoe moulding, transitions and other finishing details are completed where included in the project.

Vinyl Flooring for Oakville Basements, Condos and Renovations
Vinyl flooring is particularly useful in Oakville because many projects involve spaces where traditional hardwood flooring is not necessarily the most practical choice.
In family neighbourhoods such as Glen Abbey, River Oaks and West Oak Trails, finished basements are a common place to consider rigid click vinyl flooring. A quality SPC vinyl flooring product provides a wood-look surface while being far less vulnerable to everyday moisture than traditional hardwood flooring or standard laminate flooring.
Concrete preparation still matters. Basement slabs can have low spots, patched areas or irregularities that need to be addressed before a click-lock flooring system is installed.
In Old Oakville, Bronte and other established neighbourhoods, vinyl flooring may instead be part of a renovation where old carpet, laminate flooring or another finished surface is being removed. Floor heights and transitions into existing hardwood flooring, tile or stair areas should be considered before choosing the new product.
Oakville condos, including buildings around Oak Park, Bronte and newer development corridors, commonly involve concrete subfloors and building-specific acoustic requirements. Depending on the property, compatible click vinyl flooring can be installed over an approved acoustic system, while glue-down vinyl flooring may be considered where the building and flooring specifications permit it.
For condo-specific requirements, visit our Condo Flooring Oakville page.
Glue-down vinyl flooring can also make sense for Oakville offices, clinics, retail units and other higher-use spaces where a permanently bonded, low-profile flooring system is preferred.
For business properties, visit our Commercial Flooring Oakville page.
The best vinyl flooring system ultimately depends on the room, subfloor, product construction and expected use rather than simply choosing between click and glue-down installation by price.

Vinyl Plank Flooring Installation Cost in Oakville
Vinyl flooring project costs depend on the selected product, square footage, installation pattern, existing flooring and amount of preparation required.
Quality vinyl plank flooring materials generally range from approximately $3.99 to $4.99 per square foot.
Standard straight-lay vinyl flooring installation typically ranges from approximately $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot.
Herringbone vinyl flooring and more complex layouts generally range from approximately $4.00 to $5.50 per square foot.
Additional costs may apply for flooring removal, concrete levelling, adhesive removal, floor preparation, acoustic underlayment, transitions and baseboards.
Glue-down vinyl flooring and click vinyl flooring also have different preparation requirements, so the lowest installation price is not always the best way to choose between them.

What Our Customers Say About Us
Terri, Toronto
I highly recommend Parqueteam! I used them to replace water damaged flooring in a condo. Emil was AMAZING! He brought mutiple samples until I found one I liked (very patient!) and worked within a limited budget. He kept in constant communication and his team showed up on time, completed the job in two days and did an excellent install.
Dor, Vaughan
We had a water damage to our laminate in our condo unit. Parqueteam was referred by a friend who used them before. They supplied and installed a thick and high-quality vinyl flooring. I'm very satisfied with the job.
